Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2009
10345 Yatris had darshan on Friday,
3500 more leave Baltal for Holy Cave

Srinagar, June 20 - As many as 10,345 Yatris had darshan at the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji yesterday.

According to a Spokesperson of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, another batch of 3,500 Yatris left the Baltal Base Camp early in the morning for the Holy Cave.

The Spokesperson of the Board further stated that a batch of 1,935 Yatris left Jammu today for the Baltal Base Camp.

Jammu & Kashmir Police deploys 2 Rescue Teams for
Shri Amarnathji Yatra

Srinagar, June 20 – Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda today ordered deployment of two rescue operation teams at Sheshnag and Panjtarni for Shri Amarnathji Yatra. The necessary rescue equipment and logistics would be supplied by Armed Police to these two groups.

The DGP said these teams are well-versed with rescue operations as they have completed their basic training at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering, Pahalgam. He said these teams, comprising 10 members each, would establish the camps at Sheshnag and Panjtarni to facilitate the yatris during the Amarnath Yatra.

The trained personnel would work under the supervision of senior police officers deployed at these places for yatra duty. Mr. Khoda said rescue teams would be fully equipped with necessary equipment and logistics.
