Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2009
6237 Yatris perform Darshan on Tuesday

Srinagar, July 15 – According to a Spokesperson of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji is progressing smoothly and 6237 Yatris performed darshan on Tuesday.

The Spokesperson stated that 3415 pilgrims left from the Baltal Base Camp and 1888 from the Nunwan Base Camp this morning on their journey to the Holy Cave Shrine. He added that another batch of 1356 Yatris left from Jammu to the Pahalgam and Baltal Base Camps today.

Scheme for Revival of Tourism in Jammu & Kashmir extended for 2 years.

Srinagar, July 15 – On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah, scheme for revival of tourism sector in J&K with two components of loan facilities to travel and taxi-operators and development of paying guest accommodation by unemployed youth, has been further extended for a period of two years.

Terms and conditions of the scheme will remain same as contained in the guidelines issues to this effect.

The extension scheme will benefit large number of people directly and indirectly involved in the Tourism sector, besides providing opportunities to youth to generate self-employment. It will also enhance inflow and stay of tourists in the State.
