Ist Mughal Road Motor Rally reaches
Jammu after completing the thrilling 1st phase of over 500 km from Royal Spring Golf Course, Srinagar, Kashmir

Srinagar (Kashmir), June 25: The Minister for Tourism, Jammu & Kashmir alongwith Minister of State for Tourism today flagged off the Ist Mughal Road Rally-2010 at 5 a.m from the Royal Spring Golf Course (RSGC), Cheshmashahi, Srinagar. In all, 33 Vehicles participated in the Car Rally, representing different states of the country including Tufail Mughal from Kashmir valley. According to Himalayan Motor Sport, the Car Rally will pass through Daksum, Mughal Maidan, Mansar, Surinsar, Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Bufliaz, Peer Ki Gali, Shopian and finally down to Srinagar, Kashmir at Royal Spring Golf Course.

The first ever Mughal Road Rally was jointly organized by Himalayan Motor Sport and Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department and sponsored by Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. Describing the first Mughal Road Rally a historical event in the Jammu and Kashmir tourism history, the Minister for Tourism, Jammu & Kashmir said that this rally not only will encourage the adventure tourism in the State but also help us to identify the tourist attraction place enroute to the Race Rally. This will also encourage the youth of Jammu & Kashmir State to come forward and participate in the adventure tourism.

The Mughul Rally-2010, after passing through Anantnag-Acchabal, Kokernag, Daksu, Sinthan Pass Chingam, Chhatru, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur, Mansar and Surinsar, reached Jammu today in the afternoon.

At Jammu, the rally was received by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, at Hari Niwas Palace.Director Tourism, Jammu, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Director Flouriculture, Chief Executive Officer, Mansar Development Authority, President Himalayan Motor Sports, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, President All Jammu Hotel and Lodging Association, prominent citizens and locals were present on the occasion.

The Divisional Commissioner informed that the 33 vehicles of Himalayan Motor Sports would be flagged off from Hotel Hari Niwas on June 26, 2010 at 5.55 a.m. and head towards Srinagar via Akhnoor, Rajouri and Befliaz to Peer Ki Gali on Mughal road.

For the smooth conduct of rally, all security; boarding and lodging arrangements have been made by the divisional administration in all the districts of the Jammu region.
