Jammu & Kashmir Food Festival at Delhi Haat

New Delhi, December 26: Showcasing the ethnic cuisine of all the three regions of Jammu & Kashmir Minister for Tourism and Culture today inaugurated 15 days food festival at Delhi -Haat, New Delhi. The festival was organised by Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation to attract tourists to the State by showcasing unique food and cultural heritage of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Jammu & Kashmir continues to be the premier tourist destination for all types like tourist activities like leisure, adventure and pilgrimage. “A record numbers of over 85 lakh pilgrims have visited Shri Mata Vaishano Devi Shrine; besides 4.5 lakh have paid obeisance at Shri Amarnath Ji cave. An additional number of 5 lakh tourists have also visited Kashmir Valley and Ladakh. The Tourism Department is also creating additional infrastructure for facilitating the visit of tourists, 5 hotels at an estimated cost of Rs. 20 crore are being constructed by Jammu & Kashmir State Tourism Development Corporation at Yousmarg, Sonamarg, Chashmashahi, Gulmarg, besides renovating the famed Budshah Hotel”, the Minister said.

It is pertinent to mention that recently food festival was organised at Agra in collaboration with Hotel Raddisan during Common Wealth Games at India International Trade Fair, New Delhi at Delhi Haat. Besides, attracting Tourists to Jammu & Kashmir State and displaying culture of the three regions of the State, a good amount of revenue is also being generated from these endeavours of Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation.

The Artists from all the three regions gave scintillating performance at Delhi Haat.
