Waiting Hall for Pilgrims inaugurated at Shivkhori

Jammu, January 19: The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora today inaugurated a spacious waiting hall completed at a cost of `.3.29 crore at Shivkhori in Reasi district of Jammu. The hall will provide accommodation to 1500 pilgrims at a time.

The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Director Tourism Jammu and other district officers. The Minister said that every effort is being taken to develop the Holy Cave Shrine of Shiv Khori located in Shivalik hills, Ransoo in district Reasi in Jammu and promote pilgrim tourism, which he said is significantly contributing to boost Jammu & Kashmir state economy.

The Minister said that infrastructural development will facilitate the pilgrims as the government expects rush to this revered cave shrine in the coming times. All other developmental activities are already under execution at the Shiv Khori Shrine which are nearing completion. He said presently over ten lakh pilgrims from various parts of the country visit the shrine inspite of the tough road condition. He said work on improvement and widening of the road is apace and will be completed shortly.

Later, the Minister addressed a public meeting at Ransoo and assured the people that the government is already seized with their problems which will be addressed in a phased manner. He said Government is focused to provide equitable development to all the regions with special emphasis on augmented water, road, power and education facilities.

The Minister also paid obeisance on the Shivkhori shrine and prayed for lasting peace and prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir State.
