31581 registered for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2011 in first 2 days
Srinagar (Kashmir), May 12 – Reviewing the progress of Shri Amarnathji Yatra registration for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2011 scheduled to commence on 29th June, the Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. R. K. Goyal, disclosed that the registration has been progressing steadily since 10th May and 31,581 Yatris (pilgrims) have since secured the Yatra Permits through internet based e-registration facility and 149 Bank Branches spread across various States, during the first two days.
The CEO further disclosed that of 31,581 Yatris, 18,192 have opted for traditional Pahalgam route and 13,389 have secured registration for the Baltal route. As per the available reports, about 10,500 Yatris have availed the internet based e-Registration facility.
Briefing the media, the CEO informed that the Board is providing, free of cost, an Insurance Cover of Rs. one lakh for all the registered Yatris. He appealed to the intending Yatris to secure, in their own interest, a valid Yatra Permit through one of the 149 Bank Branches or online e-Registration facility to avoid any inconvenience on arrival in the State of Jammu and Kashmir..
