Mr. G. M. Kakpori, who hails from the Suru Valley of Ladakh Region, has a Masters Degree in Science and has been associated with the Tourism sector of Jammu & Kashmir for about 30 years. A highly qualified tourism professional, G.M. Kakpori was the 1995-PATA Foundation Scholar from India to the UK for advanced studies in visitor management at the heritage destinations of England & Scotland. He has widely travelled in UK, Europe & within India and participated in numerous national & international tourism events. He has extensive knowledge of the history, geography and culture of Jammu & Kashmir. He has authored / edited many promotional publications for J&K Tourism, including several brochures besides the much acclaimed J&K Tourism Website: www.jktourism.org, which he had compiled, researched, authored and edited at the inception level.

Mr. Kakpori now runs his own travel company based in Leh besides supervising operation of his family hotel there. He is the author / editor of the Ladakh portion of this website. www.jammu.com acknowledges his most valuable contribution for the development of the website.
