Governor constitutes 13-Member
Shri Amarnathji Yatra Advisory Committee

Jammu, April 22 - The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, in his capacity as Chairman, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, today constituted a 13-member Shri Amarnathji Yatra Advisory Committee-2009. Mr. S. L. Bhat, IAS, will be the Chairman of the Committee, while the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. B. B. Vyas, shall be its Member-Secretary.

Governor visits Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board office at
Chaitanya Ashram in Jammu

Jammu, April 22 - Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, visited the central office of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board which is functioning at the Chaitanya Ashram Complex at Talab Tillo, here today.

Governor constitutes 13-Member
Shri Amarnathji Yatra Advisory Committee

Jammu, April 22 - The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, in his capacity as Chairman, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, today constituted a 13-member Shri Amarnathji Yatra Advisory Committee-2009.

Mr. S. L. Bhat, IAS, will be the Chairman of the Committee, while the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. B. B. Vyas, shall be its Member-Secretary.

The Committee has been constituted pursuant to the decision taken at the 16th meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board held in New Delhi on February 2, 2009.
The Committee will advise the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board on logistical and other arrangements required for the smooth conduct of the Yatra 2009.
The Committee will also assist the Environmental Sub-Committee of the Board, chaired by Dr. Sunita Narain, in the formulation and implementation of the “Environment Protection Plan” for the Yatra 2009. The Committee will meet at least twice in the year, before the commencement and after the completion of the Yatra.

The members of the Yatra Advisory Committee (in alphabetical order) are: Mr. Abdul Kaliq Wangnoo, President, Travel Agents Society of Kashmir, Srinagar; Mr. A. K. Sidha, President, Martand Trust, Mattan, Anantnag; Mr. Inder Raina; Mr. Inderjeet Khajuria, President, All Jammu Hotel and Lodges Association; Mr. Kuldeep Wahi, President, Jammu Hotels and Restaurants Association; Mr. Lateef Ahmad Bhat, President, Kashmir Hotels and Restaurant Owners Association, Srinagar; Mr. Mohammed Jabbar Malik, Authorised Representative, Founders and Beneficiaries of Shri Amarnathji Holy Cave Association, Batakote, Pahalgam; Dr. Mubeen Shah, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Srinagar, Kashmir; Mr. Poshker Nath, President, Ganesh Mandal Sabha, Ganeshpora, Anantnag; Mr. Ram Sahai, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu; Mr. U. K. Jalali, Senior Advocate; Mr. Vijay Dhar, and Mr. Vinod Pandit, President All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee, Kashmir.
The senior representatives of the concerned State Government Departments/Agencies who shall attend the meetings of the Yatra Advisory Committee are: Mr. Masaud Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir; Dr. B. Srinavasan, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir; Mr. Lal Chand, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir State Pollution Control Board; Mr. Abdul Hamid Wani, Labour Commissioner, J&K; Mr. Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; Mr. Abdul Majid Khanday, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal; Mr. Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director Tourism, Kashmir; Mr. S. M. Sahni, Director Tourism, Jammu; Mr. Abdul Rashid Parrey, Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority; and Mr. Javed Bakshi, Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority.

The first meeting of the Yatra Advisory Committee is scheduled to be held on 7th May, 2009 at Srinagar.

Jammu, April 22 - Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, visited the central office of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board which is functioning at the Chaitanya Ashram Complex at Talab Tillo, here today.

The Governor discussed measures for the optimum use of the accommodation within the Complex for providing community services. He directed that a comprehensive plan for long-term utilization of the Complex be prepared on a time bound basis.

The Governor issued instructions for raising the height of the boundary wall of the Complex with special emphasis on enhancing the aesthetic aspects. He also asked for exploring possibilities, in consultation with the concerned Government agencies, for a separate approach to the Complex.

The Governor, who is also the Chairman, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, visited the ISM Dispensary and Immunization Centre in the Complex and desired that both the Centres should be provided with all necessary facilities to enable them to offer the much needed health services to the poor.

The Governor reviewed the status of various arrangements being made by the Board for the coming Yatra to the Holy Shrine of Shri Amarnathji.

The Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. B. B. Vyas, accompanied the Governor during the visit.

The Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Mr. M. K. Dwivedi, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. Madan Mantoo, Technical Consultant, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Mr. H. L. Maini, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
