Registration for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 crosses 13000 mark

Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir): Over 13000 pilgrims have so far registered themselves for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnathji in South Kashmir.

Lord Shiva in the form of a Lingam, is formed naturally of an ice.  

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board began the registration process yesterday for the yatra which will commence on June 29 and culminate on August 13.

The registration counters have been set up at 121 designated branches of the J&K Bank, 24 of the YES Bank and four of the District Cooperative Banks. The e-registration system is also operational for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011.

Over 13000 devotees from across the country have so far registered themselves for the annual pilgrimage, J&K Bank officials informed here today.

Shri Amarnath Yatra 2011 will commence simultaneously from Baltal and Chandanwari routes on June 29 and culminate on August 13.
There has been no increase in the fee of Rs 15 for registration either through the counters or the internet, the spokesman said.
