Baba Chambliyal Shrine Mela (Festival) at Ramgarh Border in Jammu

Samba (Jammu) June 20:- Minister for Industries and Commerce, Jammu & Kashmir, Surjeet Singh Salathia today reviewed arrangements for upcoming Mela at Baba Chambliyal Shrine at Ramgarh Border area at a meeting.

A large number of devotees from within and out side the J&K state visit the famous Shrine of Baba Chamlayal, while the public from other side of the border also come on zero line to collect the water and Shaker (earth) from the premises of the shrine widely known for curing skin ailments.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that shrines in the state and country are symbols composite culture and heritage and people must strive to uphold the ethos and transfer the same to the future generations. He said that such type of events give people an opportunity to interact with the each other and helps in mutual understanding and strengthening brotherhood.
The Minister directed for foolproof security and other arrangements. He asked the district administration to make available adequate number of buses for the devotees during the Mela, besides putting in place all facilities for the convenience of the visitors at the site of Baba Chambliyal Mela. The setting up of a control room for the smooth conduct of the mela was also stressed upon.

Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Samba gave a detailed account of arrangements made for the Baba Chambliyal Mela, by all the departments including PHE, PDD, PWD, Traffic Police, Motor Vehicle and J&K Tourism.

He said all the departments have already initiated the works assigned to them. He also informed that developmental departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Health, Education, Employment, Handicrafts, Handloom, Floriculture, Tourism, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry would install stalls for highlighting the developmental activities of their respective departments and also disseminate the information for the benefit of youth.

It was further informed that PHE Department shall install barricading at the Baba Chambliyal Shrine for facilitation of visitors in consultation with Police, BSF Authorities, Tourism Department and also ensure availability of Drinking water in the premises of Baba Chambliyal Shrine as well as on the way from Channi Fatwal to Baba Chamlayal While the Health department would establish a medical camp , Block Development Officer Vijaypur shall arrange temporary toilets. The arrangement for making available adequate number of buses on various routes to the shrine was assigned to ARTO.

SSP Samba, who was also present in the meeting informed that all required steps shall be taken for security and maintaining law and order, while fifty traffic personnel are being deployed for regulation of traffic on various routes leading to Chambliyal.

The Commandant, BSF informed that two Companies of BSF Personnel shall be deployed for maintaining security and facilitating the smooth conduct of the Mela.

The Sarpanches of Channi Fatwal, Jerda and Abtal also attended the meeting and assured whole hearted support in smooth conduct of Mela.
