2nd Mugal Road Car Rally flagg off in Kashmir

Srinagar (Kashmir - J&K), June 26 - Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora in presence of Minister of State for Tourism Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani flagged off 2nd Mugal Road Rally 2011 from Royal Spring Golf Course Srinagar here today morning.

Commissioner for Tourism, Mr. Atul Duloo, Director Tourism, Mr. Farooq Shah and representatives of J&K Bank, Himalayan Motor Sports and others were present on the occasion.

In all 50 Rally Cars including two from Kashmir Valley are participating in the Mugal road rally. The rally passed through Shopian, Dobjan,Peer-ki-Gali,Poonch,Rajouri and will reach Jammu.

The rally has been organised by Himalayan Motor Sports in collaboration with J&K Bank and Department of Tourism Kashmir, J&K.

2nd Mugal Road Car Rally flagg in at Jammu

Later in the afternoon the 2nd Mughal Road Rally was flagged in at Amar Mahal Jammu by Divisional Commissioner Jammu. The rally reached Jammu via Shopian, Pir Ki Gali, Bufliaz.

The Mughal Car Rally which was started last year aims at promoting the picturesque and heritage sites along the Mughal Road and to attract the adventure and nature lovers to the area.

The rally will starts its second leg for its backward journey to Srinagar via Surinsar, Mansar, Udhampur, Patnitop, Batote, Pul Doda, Kishtwar, Chingam, Sinthan Pass, Daksum, Anantnag.

The car rally will return to Srinagar via Simthan-Anantnag on June 28, 2011.

As the rally proved a big success last year, a large number of participants came all the way from various parts of the country to take part in the thrilling expedition this year as well.
