SASB advises Yatris to check weather conditions before embarking on the pilgrimage to Shri Amarnathji Shrine

Srinagar (Kashmir), July 5 - As per the official handout from Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) 19055 Yatries today had Darshan of Shiv Lingam at the Shri Amarnathji Holy cave from Baltal and Pahalgam routes of these 10843 Yatries left from Baltal and the rest from traditional route Pahalgam.

As per official figure, 1,16,994 Yatries have had darshan of Shiv Lingam during the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011 that commenced on June 29, 2011.

In the meanwhile Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has advised all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji, located at 13,500 feet, to ascertain information on weather conditions before embarking on the pilgrimage. The details of the forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department for weather in Jammu and weather in Srinagar.

According to the recent forecast provided by the Meteorological Department, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy on 6th July while it will remain generally cloudy on 7th and 8th July, 2011. However, on 9th and 10th July, light rain/thundershowers, are expected in Srinagar, Kashmir.

Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board disclosed today that the movement of Yatris has been progressing smoothly towards the Holy Cave Shrine and, after paying obeisance, the Yatris have been safely moving back towards the Base Camps.
