Shri Amarnathji Chhari-Mubarak to commence on ‘Vyas-Purnima’

 

Srinagar (Kashmir), July 13 - Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of Chhari-Mubarak Swami Amarnathji disclosed that Chhari-Mubarak shall commence on ‘Vyas-Purnima’ on July 15.

Chhari-Mubarak shall leave from from Dashnami Akhara for Pahalgam in the early hours, where ‘Bhoomi-Pujan’ and ‘Dhawajarohan’ ceremonies would be performed as per tradition and rituals.

After the rituals, Chhari-Mubarak will return to Dashnami Akhara on the same day. On the way from Pahalgam to Srinagar Pujan would also be performed at historic Martand Temple, Mattan.

The Charri Mubarak will be taken to several temples, including Shankaracharya Temple and Sharika Bhawani Temple in Srinagar before starting the final journey to the Holy Cave shrine on “Nag-Panchami”, which falls on August 4.

After performing the Chhari-Pujan at Dashnami Akhara, on “Nag-Panchami”, Mahant Deependra will carry the Holy Mace to Holy Cave to have ‘Darshan’ on ‘Shravan-Purnima’, August 13. Chhari-Mubarak commences its journey to Holy Shrine at 0900 hrs from Dashnami Akhara for night halt at Pahalgam.

On way to Pahalgam, Pujan would be performed at Sureshwar Temple, Shiv Temple Pampore, Shiv Temple Bijbehara, ‘Martand-Tirth’ Mattan and Ganesh Temple across river Lidder, Ganeshbal.

After night halt at Pahalgam, on way to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji, the Charri Mubarak will have another night halt at Chadanwari, the last motorable station on the traditional route. From Chandanwari it will have another night halt at Sheshnag (3352 Mtrs above sea level) and finally night halt at Panchtarani(4114 mtrs above sea level).

Traditional rituals and prayers shall be offered the whole day at Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji on August 13. Before dusk, Chhari-Mubarak shall leave for night halt at Panchtarani and another night halt at Pahalagam.

“Pujan and Visarjan” ceremonies shall be performed on the bank of river Lidder. Thereafter, traditional “Kari-Pakouri” Bhandara shall be organised for saints.

With this last ritual, annual pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath shall culminate and Chhari-Mubarak shall return to its Abode at Srinagar. Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara Trust announced that it has made all the arrangements for Sadhus coming from across the country for annual pilgrimage for their food and comfortable stay at Akhara Building.
