imageSrinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), July 20, 2015 - In a review meeting held here today CEO, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), informed the Chairman that Shri Amarnathji Yatra via the Baltal route, which had been interrupted for the past nearly 3 days because of the blockage of Srinagar- Sonamarg and the Sonamarg-Neelgrath roads due to torrential rains and massive landslides, has since resumed. Meanwhile it has been proceeding smoothly from the Pahalgam routes.

It is relevant to note that for the pilgrims who arrive without obtaining Advance Registration, the Shrine Board has established On-Spot Registration facilities in Jammu at (i)Vaishnavi Dham; (ii) Saraswati Dham; (iii) Jammu Haat; (iv) Geeta Bhawan; (v) Ram Mandir ( for Sadhus only) and in Srinagar at TRC, Nowgam. The Yatris are being provided the required assistance, including stationing of Doctors who medically examine the pilgrims and issue Compulsory Health Certificates at the On-Spot Registration Counters. The Shrine Board distributes literature (pamphlets) which contains the “Dos and Don’ts” for the guidance of the Yatris.

Once again advising all the Yatris to strictly follow the Health Advisory issued by the Shrine Board, the CEO has urged them to come fully prepared after achieving physical fitness before under taking the pilgrimage; avoid exerting beyond their normal capacity; consume adequate quantities of carbohydrates to reduce fatigue and prevent low blood sugar levels and take time to acclimatize before commencing the Yatra.
CEO informed that 2,44,855 pilgrims had paid obeisance at the Holy Cave till 19th July evening and as of today afternoon it has crossed 2.5 lakh mark.
