First Batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra-2015 flagged off from Jammu

Shri Amarnathji Yatra flagged off from Jammu.Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), July 1 - Ministers of Jammu & Kashmir, flanked by MLAs from Jammu, flagged off the first batch of Shri AmarnathJi Yatra 2015 from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on Wednesday 1st July 2015.

A total 1126 Yatris, in 34 vehicles including 154 Sadhus left for the Pilgrimage to Holy Cave Shrine through Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The batch comprised 919 males and 191 females and 16 children..

Interacting with the pilgrims and media, the Ministers said adequate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the Yatra. “Administration is fully geared up to provide Medicare, safe Drinking Water etc to the Yatris at base camps and along the entire route from Jammu to the Base Camps in Srinagar ” the Ministers said.

Praying for smooth and safe Yatra, the Ministers said the pilgrims have to brave tough and inclement weather conditions during the Yatra, so to avoid an outward incident, only registered and medically fit people would be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage.
