Yatra Registration Procedure
Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), June 283, 2018 - On the first day of Shri Amarnath Yatra 2018, 1007 pilgrims paid obeisance at the Holy Cave by the evening.
The commencement of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra was considerably delayed due to continuous rain since last night and commenced only in afternoon, from both the Baltal and the Pahalgam routes, only 1316 Yatris were able to leave on the Baltal route and 60 on the Pahalgam route, for the Holy Cave Shrine.
In the meanwhile District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Dr piyush Singla today flagged off first batch of Yatris, pilgrims of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra from Baltal to Holy Cave today. The pilgrims were enthusiastic on the occasion when they stepped towards the Holy Cave.
The DDC held a review meeting of all nodal Officers Baltal base camp to oversee the arrangements being made for Yatris by various departments.
At the same time DGP CRPF & DGP J&K Visited South Kashmir and reviewed Shri Amarnath Yatra progress.
DGP CRPF Shri Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar IPS and DGP J&K Shri SP Vaid IPS and senior police and paramilitary officers including Spl DG CRPF, IG Ops CRPF today visited South Kashmir to review the arrangements in place for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra 2018 en-route the annual Holy pilgrimage.
DGP impressed upon the officers to ensure that the vehicles cross the identified locations as per the specified cut-off timings. DGP directed the officers to take all precautions in view of any weather conditions so as to ensure the smooth passage of Shri Amarnath Yatra through their respective areas. He also reviewed the preparedness for the Disaster Management and directed the rescue teams to stay alert and active for facing any challenge.
